Visual CertExam Suite Editor's Review

This is a test engine which helps you prepare for certification exams. It has two application: 'Designer' and 'Manager'. The 'Designer' feature allows you to create and edit your own exams. Many types of questions are supported such as multiple choice, fill in the blank, select and place, point and shoot, hot area, create a tree, build list and reorder and drop, and connect. You have the ability to create case study based exams. When creating an exam you can use the 'question preview' feature to see exactly how a question will appear during an examination. While testing the program I was able to format the text, adding bullets and numbering or alignment. You can insert your own images but only JPEG, JPG and GIF are accepted. Each exam you create, can contain multiple exams as 'Exam A', 'Exam B' which can contain multiple questions.

The 'Manager' feature allows you to secure your exam by creating a password which will be needed in order to start an exam or to view score history. You can also enable or disable the 'Show Answer' button which, if enabled, will show you the answer to the current question. The questions can be randomized. You also have a 'Calculator' button on your exam window and a timer. The timer can be set as you wish when you create the test.

If you have exam files created as text files or RTF, you can import them with questions automatically. Also you can import question sets and complete exams from other VCE files. The flexible examination mode settings make it useful not only for self preparation, but also for giving practice exams to students in classrooms.

The application interface provides a quite realistic interface of a real certification exam.

Pluses: This is one of the best test engines I've seen so far.
